This case study highlights the transformation of a service company’s reporting process through a Microsoft Power BI dashboard that automated and centralized data from multiple sources.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Our client, a mid-sized IT service company, managed their financial and ticketing metrics manually, pulling data from weclapp. This process was highly time-intensive, requiring two to three days each month to access, compile, and analyze reports. Our client had to manually review reports and gather data on metrics such as revenue, hours logged, ticket counts, and further issues.
This manual approach led to inefficiencies, often delaying decision-making and impacting the ability to respond swiftly to trends in workload or financial performance. To counter this, the client needed a more efficient system to centralize data and provide actionable insights in a user-friendly format.
We proposed and developed a Microsoft Power BI dashboard that would help centralize and automate the client’s reporting process. The dashboard was designed to easily integrate data from multiple sources, including APIs, Excel files, and Postgres databases. As the data was automatically updated each night, users always had access to the most recent information without having to manually retrieve it.
To meet the diverse reporting needs of our client, the dashboard included customizable visuals that allowed users to filter and explore specific metrics, such as the status of tickets and monthly performance.
The dashboard emphasized simplicity and clarity in its design, making it easy to navigate without overwhelming the user. Several design options were also proposed to ensure alignment with the client’s aesthetic preferences and usability requirements. By striking a balance between modern aesthetics and functionality, we created a dashboard that was both visually appealing and highly intuitive.
Finally, the dashboard was also developed with modular components, enabling our client to expand reporting capabilities as their business grows.
The implementation of the Power BI dashboard transformed our client’s reporting in multiple ways. For one thing, the automated dashboard eliminated the need for manual data compilation, reducing reporting time that previously took several days. With nightly data updates, users can access real-time metrics each morning, enabling faster decision-making and responsiveness to business needs.
The dashboard’s color-coded visuals also provide immediate clarity on performance metrics, making it easy for our client to identify ticket trends and further trends like workload fluctuations, workload distribution, and revenue growth. This also offers the ability to drill down into specific data segments for detailed information.
In addition, its modular design positions it as an easy-to-use solution that can accommodate future data sources, metrics, and reporting requirements. As our client’s needs evolve, the dashboard can be expanded without requiring complete overhaul, making it a sustainable, long-term solution.
This case study shows how we were able to recreate existing reports with fully automated updates and add new modules to help a company explore data more deeply. This also allowed them to effortlessly gain clearer, more insightful visualizations.
